The official notification states that there is a ₹250 non-refundable application fee for the posts. However, all candidates initially have to pay a ₹750 processing fee.
Candidates belonging to categories exempted from the application fee, including women, SC/ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen, are eligible for a full refund of the processing fee if they appear in the written test/CBT.
For other candidates who appear in the written test, ₹500 will be refunded after deduction of the ₹250 application fee. Candidates who do not appear for the written test are not eligible for the refund.

The written test/CBT consists of 100 marks and is divided into two parts.

Part B – Aptitude/Ability:

ISRO Scientist Engineer Selection Process 2026
The ISRO Scientist Engineer Selection Process 2026 consists of a written test/CBT followed by an interview.
Candidates are shortlisted for interview based on written-test performance, generally in a 1:5 ratio, with a minimum aggregate of 10 candidates.
The interview carries 100 marks and evaluates candidates on technical knowledge, technical-area general awareness, presentation and communication skills, comprehension and academic achievements.
For final panel preparation, the written test and interview each receive 50% weightage.
